    Default Security Unlocked?

Hi -- I posted the following over at XDA, but I must have missed reading something, or posted it incorrectly, as it's gone either overlooked or ignored. So, hopefully, my hand won't be slapped for re-asking it here. :-) I'm looking for a simple yes or no to the following post:

I'm not totally clear as to whether my ATT Tilt is security unlocked. I followed jockey's directions resulting in the following bootloader screen:

    KAIS1*0 MFG
    SPL-1.0.Olipof
    CPLD-8
    USB

Then I used HardSPL v3.56, which resulted in:

    KAIS1*0
    SPL-3.56.Hard
    CPLD-8
    USB

At this point, I was under the (false?) impression that I security unlocked the phone, and had HardSPL'd it with v3.56. My concern is that I do not see any text that says anything like "security unlocked", which I thought would indicate that the phone was security unlocked.

    Am I missing something?

FWIW, I then installed the latest official, unreleased ATT ROM:

    WM 6.1 Pro
    CE OS 5.2.19214 (Build 19214.1.0.4)
    Radio 1.65.20.29
    Memory 85.57M

Have I done this correct, allowing me to install any ROM/Radio I choose in the future?

unlocking the phone only allows for you to place custom roms onto the phone.... it doesnt sim unlock the phone.... sim unlocking isnt a hardspl..... i know they have the sim unlocking tool for the tilt over at xda if that is what you are meaning.

I've previously SIM unlocked the phone by getting a code from ATT. What I'm asking is whether I've, in fact, security unlocked the phone, even though there's no security unlocked text displayed when in bootloader mode.

I know what you're saying, but you're overlooking a very important fact -- I flashed the ATT Tilt with an official, unreleased ATT ROM (not a custom ROM), so that doesn't mean the phone is necessarily security unlocked.

the hard spl i believe is so that the phone doesnt brick, but the sim unlocker is only used for 6.0 not 6.1 so to SIM UNLOCK the phone it must be 6.0 so make sure the ATT rom u have is 6.0 cuz i kno they released 6.1 rom, but then u can upgrade back to 6.1, and i still dunno ur problem hahahaa

Ok. Let's hope you're right. Before I flash the phone with the official released ATT ROM (not yet available), I'll first try to flash a custom ROM/radio -- if it flashes, then it's unlocked, right?

Let's see... ah, yes! My GPS goes to Michigan! <hehe>
