before flashing!
2) Download the file to your PC.
3) Connect phone to PC via Activesync/WMDC.
4) Make sure all device settings (Contacts, SMS, etc) are backed up!!
5) Execute downloaded .exe and follow instructions.
6) When the ROM is completed load up provisioning in startmenu.

I actually have just experienced a similar problem using the SsS ROM. So maybe it's not totally unique to Silence. Except on SsS, I couldn't even enter my domain (us); the box was greyed out and wouldn't accept input, so I think that's why it couldn't connect. Weird.

This ROM Is by far my most fav. Its speed and smooth bug-less, Its an all around top notch rom, and if anyone is looking for a great Rom to flash for sprint touch pro 2 users on the t-mobile network this is it.

Just a quick update. I experienced the problem again using one of the Energy ROMs. This was like SsS where I couldn't even enter my domain.

So to clarify I think the problem with SsS and Energy is different than what I experienced with Silence. In SsS and Energy, I couldn't even enter a domain (which for me is 'us') as the box was greyed out from the start. So the sync problem probably comes from not having a domain entered. In Silence, on the other hand, I can enter all of my information, but it won't accept the security credentials. Maybe it's a certificate problem?

For now I'm using Mr. X which is nice and non-intrusive. But I really would like to be able to give Silence another shot. I'm a bit sick of the god-awful clock in Mr. X and I unfortunately just experienced a rather dramatic lockup while exiting WMP, haha.

So i noticed on the last page you said you tried 6-7 ROMs and it only happened on Silence. But now it's also SSS and Energy?
MrX is working? If it is back track . Check out the settings on that ROM that are making it work and see if you can change them on Silenece012
Is it a new program you are using that is causing it? What is different from the ROMs that worked ( programs, cabs)

Alright so I've tested out about 10 ROMs at this point. 5 of them have worked flawlessly for exchange email, and 5 have not.

Mr. X, MediumHill (SenseUI), Mighty Love, the regular MightyROM, and Mighty VOID have all worked.

Of the 5 that have not worked, there are two ways in which they fail.

The first way is what I have experienced in Silence and now also Juicy. These roms let me enter all of the pertinent exchange info (email address, password, domain, and server name). Upon trying to sync to the server, they will respond with "please correct your exchange credentials." I try to re-enter the information, but it keeps responding with that same message.

The second way is what I have experienced in SsS, Energy (Leo), and Mighty WAR. Notice these are all 2.5 UI-based ROMs. In these cases, I simply cannot enter my domain from the get-go, as if the box is somehow disabled by default. So it's not really a server validation problem, since I can't even enter my domain to begin with. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this with these ROMs? Does anyone else here sync their phones with exchange, requiring you to manually enter the domain and server name? If so, have you found that the domain box is greyed out?

As for trying to figure out what's "different" between all these installations, I really don't do anything differently to any one of the ROMs. I follow the same steps each time:
- Flash the ROM
- Hard reset
- Dial *228 to activate the phone, restart
- Connect to my WiFi network
- Set up email
And that's it. So nothing could really be interfering.

hahaha yup it keeps the boards cleaner and such than having run ons with the same person many times in a row. (only does that for a certain set time after the initial post is made.) and weird that only certain roms are doing that to you.... glad to see that you found titanium a nice experieence from a post of yours that i just saw.

Dude, i have no idea what to tell you. Maybe check out Silence thread over at PPCGeeks and see if anyone else has had this problem.

Well I inquired over at PPCGeeks and the first reply I got actually solved the problem. He told me all I had to do was uncheck the "automatically detect server settings" box. I was a bit confused at first since there is no such option when using the add-new-mailbox wizard through the mail tab. But I found the option by going into the settings tab, clicking connections, and selecting microsoft push email.

I wonder if this might help with the other ROMs as well. Will keep you posted.
