So i asked my friend who has the eris also, if their phone lags in between texts. and it does. and so does mine. i was wondering if anyone else's droid has lag. or if there is a way to make it less laggy.

droid and droid eris are differnet phones but on the eris every user faces the same problem with the lag.... thats a known problem and since the phone is yet to be rooted we cant do a thing about it yet.Originally Posted by Lynnwood [Only the registered members can see the link click here to register]

i was wondering if anyone has flashed yet? im kinda noob to flashing my phone XD. don't know to either stay with unrooted 1.5 or go over to rooted 2.0(2.1?) thoughts?
we have had a few flash form here and the overall results for roms are limited at the moment but going to get better and many have reported no problems with the process with the occassional few that there always are. The best way I've found to get rid of the lag in my eris is to (first) delete all text threads, (second) delete call log info, (third) call *22899. The last "reprograms" your phone and performs, for lack of a better work, a "defrag" on your phone.
I do this about once a week and it's cleared up my lag really well.
PS: the *22899 also helps bump up your signal strength too. It makes the phone forget what tower it's been connected to and search for the closest one instead... and I thought it did that automatically... silly me.
